CREATOR of the 80s sports car the DMC Delorean John Delorean-Despite it’s looks and reputation this is not a high performance sports car. Off the production line 0-60 mph was clocked at a sluggish 10.5 seconds. Originally called the DMC-12 because it was supposed to cost $12,000 it ended up costing $25,000– 5K more than a Corvette, which it ironically was meant to compete with. Still the story and the design created a huge buzz and a following of fervent fans still around today.
